A Private & Personal Christian Church Sermon
(revised October 2009)
Welcome to all who come to worship...
Hi, I'm Rev. Paula and I'm glad I could reach you and share with you this Holy Time with God. You personally will have the Blessing of Ministering to yourself through this Worship Service Today. You may wish to take the time to scroll through this sermon first to familiarize yourself with it. This is a complete read through Church Service so you can take your time and stop whenever you'd like to pray. You can come back to this service anytime or any day that you feel the need and desire.
~ Begin Church Service ~
Pray and Worship to our Father God!
Sing your favorite song, hymn or read the hymn below.
Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.
Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Exchanging the Sign of Peace.
Lord Jesus Christ, You said to Your apostles: "I leave you peace, my peace I give
you", look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the
peace and unity of your kingdom where you live for ever and ever. Amen.
The peace of the Lord be with me always.
(Since you are attending this service alone & privately, think of someone and say, "God Bless (their name)".)
In the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. AMEN!
(if you wish, you may make the sign of the cross)
The Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all and also with me.
Quiet Preparation...
(Take a Moment and prepare for the service. As you know, God is everywhere. Now is the time to make a conscious effort to enter God's presence & begin to worship our Heavenly Father. Take some time here to meditate, as you begin to get closer to God privately. There is no one way to worship Him, so take your time and worship Him in the way you believer, before continuing...)
The Opening Prayer
Father God, I am here to enter your Heavenly Court and to praise You with my heart. You are the One and Only True God, for there is no other god but You. Lord how very much I do love You. Help me to get closer to You. My heart reaches out to You now and forever!
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power,
and The Glory, for ever and ever, Amen.
OR SAY
The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible;
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us men and for our salvation,
came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost,
of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again,
according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of the Father;
and he shall come again, with glory,
to judge both the quick and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost the Lord, and Giver of Life,
who proceedeth from the Father [and the Son];
who with the Father and the Son together,
is worshipped and glorified;
who spake by the Prophets.
And I believe in one holy Christian and Apostolic Church;
I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and I look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. AMEN.
OR SAY
The Apostle's Creed
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
he descended into hell;
the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand
of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to
judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
the holy Christian church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen.
This is a HOLY TIME...
Heavenly Father, I wish to remove anything that may be in the way of my open communion with you. I want to feel close to you and be comforted by You and receive Your Guidance and Peace. There are some things that I would like to get cleared up and out of the way right now.
Confession & Forgiveness:
Lord, I wish to confess the following to You: ________________________
(Take a few moments and think of the people, places and times, where you believe that you have done wrong to yourself, hurt others or your relationship with God, or those times when you have had wrong done to you or have been hurt by others. Solemnly confess to the Lord these things)
My Dear Lord, hear my confession...
I am truly sorry for all these things that I have done wrong, against others and myself and especially against You. I confess them all to You. I repent from these thoughts, words and deeds and truly want to turn from these ways and be better, kinder and more loving in all ways. I truly forgive all those who have hurt me or my loved ones. I understand that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, as a Sacrifice for me. He died on the cross for my sins and after three days, He then rose from the dead. He gave me eternal life in heaven. I ask You, Dear Lord Jesus Christ, to come into my
heart. I pray and thank You for all these things that You so willingly do for me and ask for forgiveness of all my wrong doings and sins. Forgive all others according to Your Will and in The Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
May Almighty God have mercy on me, forgive me my sins, and bring me to everlasting life. Amen.
Receive My Prayer.
You are seated at the right hand of the Father,
Have mercy on Us.
For You alone are the Holy One,
You alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit, in the Glory of God the Father.
Amen.
The Lord be with me and with my Spirit.
The Holy Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Glory to You, Lord!
(You may make a small sign of the cross on the forehead, lips, and heart while saying these words)
Prepare for Holy Communion - Eucharist
(Gather your communion elements before you begin the service to be specially
consecrated by you. During the Communion-Eucharist service the elements will be blessed / sanctified by you and you will eat and drink them. Make ready the food and drink, you may take a part of your own meal of bread, crackers, & any naturally grown or made drink like juice, tea or coffee. You may light a candle to represent the light of Jesus Christ. Background music can be included with the service of Holy Communion. Turn your speaker volume to a low level.
Read aloud with responses during the Service. Prepare yourself in a most rever-
ent manner at the Communion to become the Body and Blood of Our Lord &
Savior Jesus Christ. You can do this anytime, breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime
during the day or night. Prayerfully dedicate this time to God for the purpose of
Holy Communion. So now that these things are ready, continue with your service.)
Communion Preparation Prayer:
Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness I have this
food to offer, which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become
for me the bread of life.
Blessed be God forever.
Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation. Through Your Goodness I have this
drink to offer, grown from the earth and work of human hands. It will become for
me the spiritual drink.
Blessed be God forever.
I pray that my sacrifice may be acceptable to You, my Almighty Father.
Amen.
Eucharistic Prayers.
The Lord Be with Me.
Lift up my heart.
I lift it up to the Lord.
Let me give thanks to the Lord, my God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.
It is my duty and my salvation, always and everywhere to give thanks to You, Lord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal God, who with Your only-begotten Son and the Holy Spirit are one God, one Lord Forever. And so I join the angels and saints in proclaiming your glory:
The Sanctus
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might.
Heaven and earth are full of Your Glory.
Hosanna in the Highest.
Blessed is He Who comes
in the Name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the Highest.
I proclaim the mystery of faith.
Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
In dying You destroyed our death,
In rising You restored our life. Lord Jesus, come in glory.
When I eat this bread and drink this cup, I proclaim Your death,
Lord Jesus, until You come in glory.
Lord, by your cross and resurrection,
You have set me free. You are the Savior of the World.
Doxology:
And so, Father, I bring you these gifts. I ask you to make them holy by the power
of your Spirit, that they may become the Body and Blood of your Son, our Lord
Jesus Christ, at whose command I celebrate this Eucharist.
The Great Amen:
Through Him, with Him, and in Him,
in the Unity of the Holy Spirit,
All Glory and Honor is Yours,
Almighty Father, for ever and ever.
(Sing slowly)
A-men! A-men! A-A-me-en!
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have Mercy on me.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have Mercy on me.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, grant me peace."
This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those
who are called to his supper.
Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.
Holy Communion:
(Now take and eat of His Body sacrificed for you...)
(Now take and drink of His Blood shed for you...)
(You have completed a most powerful physical, emotional and spiritual act. Take
a few moments to be with Our Heavenly Father, to deeply and privately com-
mune, pray, meditate or share, however you believe... Then pray.)
Lord God, Heavenly Father, at this time, I am unable to describe my immense
closeness, gratitude and depth of love for You... AMEN!
Benediction, Dismissal & Thanks
The Lord be with me.
I shall seek my Father's Will and be available to serve Him as the Holy Spirit calls upon me in my daily life. May I keep God, my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, His Son and My Lord and Living Savior & the Holy Spirit close and deep in my heart.
May the Lord bless me. May the Lord make His Face shine upon me and be gracious to me. May The Lord look upon me with favor and give me Peace. May the Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit Be with me always.
Amen and Amen!
